2026 Board of Director Candidate Letter of Intents
J.R. Hammond
Dear Ashbrook Nominating Committee,
I’m writing to express my interest in running for the open position on
the Ashbrook Board of Directors for the upcoming 3-year term at the
June 2026 annual meeting.
A little about me: I’m J.R. Hammond, and my girlfriend and I moved
into Ashbrook on July 3, 2025. We live at 14714 Midship Woods Ct. Our
home is still a fun work in progress, but Ashbrook already feels like
home. I’ve lived and worked in the area my entire life, primarily
helping small and mid-sized businesses. Currently, I work with AT&T
Business, and previously with T-Mobile. My work focuses on listening,
building strong relationships, and solving problems in a practical
way.
I’ve also been involved with local chambers over the years, including
the SoVa Chamber of Commerce, as well as earlier involvement in
Powhatan and Chesterfield. I’ve enjoyed contributing to events,
sponsorships, and helping connect people within the community.
I’d like to join the board because I really appreciate how welcoming
and well kept Ashbrook feels, even in the short time we’ve been here.
I’d enjoy contributing to decisions around events, upkeep, and overall
community direction to help maintain and improve that experience for
everyone.
As someone newer to the neighborhood, I believe I can offer a fresh
perspective while still being collaborative and respectful of what’s
already working well. Professionally, I bring experience in
communication, relationship management, and planning ahead. I’d be
especially interested in helping strengthen communication between the
board and residents, as well as supporting events and community
engagement.
I’m dependable, easy to work with, and committed to following through.
Whether that’s serving on a committee, helping with events, or simply
being available to listen and contribute thoughtfully, I’m ready to be
involved.
I appreciate your consideration and the work you do to support the
community. I’d welcome the opportunity to contribute.
Best regards,
J.R. Hammond
